Molokai Airport MKK is the principal airport for the Island. Several airlines serve Molokai Airport.
Molokai does not have direct flights from the mainland of North America.
We have listed the Molokai airlines below:
- Makani Kai Air
- Mokulele Airlines
- Ohana - Hawaiian Airlines
Molokai is a short flight from Oahu, Maui, Kauai or Hawaii Island (the Big Island).
There are no direct flights to Molokai from the Mainland United States. Traveling to Molokai probably means an Inter-Island flight from Honolulu Airport HNL. There are also direct flight from Maui Airport - Kahului Airport OGG as well.
The aircraft used to fly to Molokai are going to be commuter size as a result of this being an Inter-Island flight. With about 60,000 visitors a year there is no need for a jumbo jet.
When the Molokai Ferry was operational, we saw lots of people doing a one day trip to the Island. Interestingly, now there are some people that take the early flight and do a day trip. Many arriving early enough to make it to the Kalaupapa National Historical Park and Mule Ride tour.
